Rep wants EFCC to probe allegations

A group of women, reportedly protested in Edo state, following what they termed anti- Igbinedion comments.

Adams Oshiomhole

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sergius Ogun, has called on anti-graft agencies to investigate the allegations of corruptions, being thrown back and forth by two prominent Edo citizens.

The Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole and Chief Lucky Igbinedion, also a former Governor of the state, have accused each other of fraud.

Governor  Oshiomhole also threatened to chase the former Governor, out of the state.

Speaking further on the matter, the House of reps member said “It is rather unfortunate that it has taken the governor of Edo state, his Excellency, Aliyu Adams Oshiomhole, 7years plus to come out to tell this country and the people of Edo state that the former governor stole money. I mean it is only in a country like Nigeria that this thing will happen.

“We know how he came to power and all that, and those that helped him there. If they fell out, well, it is very unfortunate. But I think whatever is happening is for the good of the people of Edo state. That is my honest assessment. Because now he said the former governor stole money and the former governor has said [Oshiomole is] a bigger thief. So we need to know where Edo state’s money is. I will urge the relevant agencies to go in and ask questions and recover our money to help develop our state."
