APGA wants INEC to conduct credible polls

The Chairman of the party said APGA was poised to beat the ruling PDP and the APC in the election.

Chief Victor Oye.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Monday, the Chairman of the party, Dr Victor Oye, said APGA was poised to beat the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the election.

Oye said that the party would take advantage of the internal squabbles in both the PDP and APC to win the poll.

He said that APGA was the best option for the people of Ondo as its candidate, Mr Adeyemi Alao, towered high above other contestants in the race.

The chairman said his party was sure of springing surprises at the poll but called on INEC to release a result that would be reflective of the wishes of the people unlike in Edo where the result was greeted with protests.

“APGA is the best option for the people; our candidate is the best among all, an accomplished public servant and administrator who understands the aspirations of his people.

“The electorate is still confused as to who the candidates are for the other parties in the election.

“They are still in crisis internally which is not the best for the good people of Ondo but they know the man, Yemi Alao, very well.

“Our worry is that INEC should do the right thing. We want a situation where the people’s votes count, they must guard against the type of result released in Edo which remains unacceptable to us today.

“APGA is calling for fairness in the entire process of Ondo governorship election,” he said.
