The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is said to have cornered almost 4,000 of the 5,000 invitation cards prepared for the inauguration of President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.

PDP candidate and incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan will be ushered out on Friday, May 29 2015, after losing the March 28 elections.

A source on the Inauguration Committee reportedly told Premium Times that the hijacking of the cards was a deliberate act.

“We don’t want President Goodluck Jonathan to be embarrassed during the ceremony as we gather that there are plans to boo the outgoing President during the ceremony,” the source said.

“It is imperative that we give the outgoing President a cheerful exit,” he added.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Buhari's party is said to have gotten only 1,300 invitation cards for its local and foreign dignitaries who have shown interest in attending the inauguration.

The move is said to be causing tensions among committee members as there is a current jostle for invitation cards to the ceremony.

Jonathan will transfer his handover notes to Buhari during a dinner today, May 28, while the official inauguration will hold on Friday.
