The Rivers PDP alleged that the APC was planning to disrupt Wike’s swearing-in with a court injunction.

Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and current Governor, Nyesom Wike

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to stop the inauguration of governor-elect, Nyesom Wike.

The party made the allegations on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, via a statement released by spokesperson, Emma Okah.

The statement reads in part:

“However, in the face of this provocation, the PDP urges the people of Rivers State to remain calm as their governor-elect will be sworn in on May 29, 2015, as ordained by God like his colleagues in other states.”
