Ex-Gov is just like Jesus Christ - Asavwota

Ex-Gov James Ibori has been likened to Jesus Christ by one of his elated political associates after his return to Delta State.

James Ibori, seen here in 2009 wearing white and raising his hand, served as governor of the oil-rich Delta state between 1999 and 2007

The ex-Secretary of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, reportedly made this known as he expressed delight at the return of ex-governor of Delta State.

In a report by Daily Trust, Asavwota had said: "He (Ibori) is just like Jesus Christ because he is a man who does not want anyone to suffer."

“Ibori is the man on ground, either here or in limbo, he has affected all and takes everybody along without discrimination.

“With his coming around, the politics in our polity here would change. If not the ganging up at the first instance when he was looking up to the vice presidency, it would have been a different ball game entirely.

“We made his arrival low-key and by the time the whole of Deltans knew he was in town, the entire state erupted in jubilation”, he said.

Ibori, arrived the country on Saturday morning and met with the DG of DSS Lawal Daura before leaving for his hometown, Oghara in Delta State.
