Legislators engage in combat over leadership positions [PHOTOS]

The trouble began as Speaker, Yakubu Dogara was about to resume business for the day and name nominees for principal positions in the House.

The House of Representatives was, on Thursday, June 25, 2015, thrown in disarray when legislators engaged in a free-for-all over leadership positions.

The trouble began as Speaker, Yakubu Dogara was about to resume business for the day and name nominees for principal positions in the House.

Legislators loyal to Dogara were said to have clashed with those loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which had written to the Speaker telling him who to choose.

Other lawmakers were said to have made attempts to hijack the mace, without which the House can’t validly sit.
