Governor thanks Buhari for appointing Ekiti indigene as Chief of Defence Staff

Fayose also congratulated Olonishakin on his appointment describing it as merited and well deserved.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing an indigene of the state, Major General Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin as the Chief of Defence Staff.

The governor made the comments on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, via a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi.

“At this crucial time in the existence of Nigeria as a nation, I have no doubt that Major General Olonishakin will justify his appointment by making our country safe again,” the statement reads.

“I therefore pray that God will continue to give him the strength and wisdom to give his best at all times,” it adds.

Fayose also expressed optimism that Olonishakin would exhibit the courage, intelligence and honesty that Ekiti people are known for.

Buhari appointed the new CDS along with other service chiefs on Monday, July 13.
