‘If you don’t stop wasting Nigeria’s money, you’ll die,’ Senator-elect warns politicians [VIDEO]

Mr Murray-Bruce also criticized the country’s politicians for acting like multi-billionaires while the average citizen is hungry and angry.

Senator-elect and Chairman of the Silverbird Group, Ben Murray-Bruce has warned Nigerian politicians to stop living affluent lives at the expense of the populace or be prepared for death.

The Senator-elect, who will represent the Bayelsa East Senatorial District, made the comments during the Silverbird “Man of the Year” event which held on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.

“The problem in Nigeria is the rich versus the poor. The crisis we have is a class warfare,” Murray-Bruce said.

“If we do not control our consumption behaviour… these young kids, they may not be able to read and write, but they have access to the internet, they know how to make a bomb, they know how to make a grenade, they know how to find a gun, they know how to pull the trigger,” he added.

“When they get hungry and angry, you become the victim. You don’t have enough money to hide or run. You will be caught and you will die,” the Senator-elect said.

During the event, Murray-Bruce also decried the state of Nigeria’s finances saying “Nigeria is too poor for our leaders to act like multi-billionaires and too rich for our people to be so poor.”
