Osun Governor denies asking for more bailout funds

This is coming on the heels of accusations and criticisms from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of Osun state.

The Osun state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has denied asking the Federal Government  for more bailout funds.

The Osun PDP Director of Publicity, Mr. Diran Odeyemi said “It is embarrassing and fraudulent for Governor Aregbesola to be begging the CBN for another bailout when no one in the state knows when, where and how he spent the N34.98bn he collected five months ago.”

Responding to the accusations, Punch reports that the Consultant to Osun State Government on Information, Mr. Sunday Akere said “The PDP in Osun does not merit any response. They issue releases just to let the people out there know that they are still around. They are doing this to draw attention to themselves.

“They always display their ignorance, despite that they have moles in the system. They should ask their moles.”

Adding that “The bailout covered December 2014 to June 2015 salaries and we have paid these. Pension was not part of the bailout and despite this we paid pensioners.”

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state recently ordered the sack of any doctor not at work.
