Couple faces alleged theft charge

Olatunde also alleged that the couple stole a N650, 000 Rolex wristwatches and a gold chain valued at N230, 000.

The couple, 67 and 65 years respectively, is facing a six-count charge of conspiracy, housebreaking, stealing and fraud.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olatunde told the court that the couple broke into the apartment of Chibuzor Nwazuruoke (the accused’s younger brother) on Oct. 10, 2013 in Oshodi area of Lagos.

He further alleged that the couple had concealed the landed documents belonging to the complainant, disconnected and tampered with the electricity supply to his apartment.

The offences contravened Sections 290, 307, 340 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs Kofo Ariyo, admitted the couple to a bail of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Ariyo then adjourned the case until October 24 for mention.
