Earlier, the Prosecutor, Joseph Ajebe, had told the court that the accused drove a Man-Diesel truck with registration number TFD 793 XA dangerously and caused the death of a 35-year-old man, Olayiwola Bolaji.

“The accused, who was driving dangerously without care or caution, knocked down the victim at about 3.00 p.m. along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, Alakuko, Lagos.

“The victim was immediately rushed to Ota General Hospital in Ogun by traffic personnel who were at the scene of the accident.”

Ajebe said the victim was later referred to Othopaedic hospital in Yaba, Lagos, due to the degree of injury he suffered, but died on his way to the hospital.

“The body was deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), mortuary, Ikeja,’’ he said.
