'Payment of N5000 to unemployed Nigerians to start in 2016' - Minister confirms

Nigerian youths had taken to social media last week, protesting the non payment of the 5000 stipend, and demanding that it should be paid without further delay.

The Federal Government has confirmed that the payment of the N5000 stipend to the unemployed Nigerian youths will begin in 2016.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalong disclosed this on Tuesday, Nov. 24, in Abuja while paying a condolence visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun at the nationL secretariat on the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, APC's candidate in the Kogi state governorship election.

Lalong also assured Nigerians that the Buhari-led government would create more jobs to fill its campaign promises.

This is coming after Nigerian youths took to social media last week, protesting the non payment of the 5000 stipend, and demanding that it should be paid without further delay.
