Members of the Boko Haram sect, stormed a Secondary School for girls, in Chibok, Borno state, on April 14 2014 and kidnapped over 200 girls.

After some back and forth, trading of blames and accusations, even denials, the Goodluck Jonathan administration finally accepted that the girls were kidnapped.

In fact, the return of the Chibok girls became part of the campaign promises of aspiring Presidential candidates during the just concluded 2015 elections.

A former minister, Oby Ezekwesili has been at the fore-front of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, that has received international attention.

Reports have also hinted of possible talks with Boko Haram, to secure the release of the girls.
