Ex-minister dies at 72

According to reports, the former politician has been sick for the past three months at his Ise Ekiti hometown in Ekiti State.

 

A former Minister of Education in Nigeria, Olaiya Oni has been announced dead at the age of 72.

According to reports, Oni was certified dead on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo, Ondo state, where he passed on after a battling with an undisclosed ailment.

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, the former politician has been sick for the past three months at his Ise Ekiti hometown in Ekiti State.

"He has been bedridden for some months", the source tells Sahara Reporters.

Family sources disclosed that the remains of the former minister has been deposited at the morgue while preparation for his burial has began.

This is coming weeks after the former Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Olu Falae was kidnapped in his farm in Ondo State.
