In a heated opening to the meeting, Senator Ngige had accused NARD of breaching Section 18 of the Trade Dispute Act of 2004 by going on strike.

He said, "Once conciliation starts by the government, no employer has the right to embark on strike."

The Chairman of Committee of Chief Medical Directors of Teaching Hospitals, Prof. Thomas Agan and representatives of the Head of the Civil Service are also involved in the meeting taking place at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
