Oba says accident happened because goddess wasn’t appeased

Oba Basiru Oloruntoyin Saliu said further that the goddess could have prevented the crash if she had been appeased.

The Oba of Oworonshoki in Lagos has reportedly said that the helicopter crash which occurred in the area yesterday, August 12, 2015, was due to the government’s failure to appease the goddess.

Oba Basiru Oloruntoyin Saliu said further, while speaking to Vanguard, that the goddess could have prevented the crash if she had been appeased.

Oba Saliu said:

“The government no longer pays attention to traditional rites which is necessary to prevent such occurrences. For instance, how many times have we appeased the goddess this year?”

“An occurrence like this may be caused by the goddess because no human being can depict the depth of the lagoon; but if the goddess is appeased, she would have prevented such occurrence.”

Six people have been confirmed dead in the incident while another six were found alive.
