DSS grills ex-minister

Addressing journalists after his time with the DSS, Maku did not disclose why he was summoned by the DSS.

According to The Cable, Maku was questioned by the DSS operatives for about an hour.

It was not ascertained as at the time of filing this report why the ex-minister was summoned.

The ex-minister addressed newsmen after his time with the DSS operatives, describing it as "a good one".

He, however, refuted the speculations that the secret service plans to arrest him.

He said, "I was a commissioner, deputy governor in Nasarawa state and minister at the federal level, but today, I am no longer in position, but can still move around freely.

"That is bcause I served the country very well and refused to be corrupt.

"So, leaders should understand that the authority and privilege of every public office would surely end one day, whether we like it or not."

He also condemned the herdsmen killings in Benue state and other parts of the country, urging politicians to unite in bringing peace to their communities "instead of promoting violence and bloodshed."

Maku served as minister former president Goodluck Jonathan.

He is currently the National Secretary of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
