'3 policemen died in gun battle while trying to rescue me'

3 policemen have been reported to have lost their life while trying to rescue the special adviser on Media and publicity to the Rivers state chairman ,Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Mr.Jerry Needam.

3 policemen reportedly lost their life while trying to rescue the special adviser on Media and publicity to the Rivers state chairman ,Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Mr.Jerry Needam.

Needam accuses his political opponent on the kidnap and attempt on his life,but gives gratitude to God for sparing his life. He said one of the killed policeman was an Assistant Superintendent, ASP. While adding that the policemen engaged the kidnappers in a very heavy gun battle on his life.

All this information was stated in the statement disclosed by Needam he said two of their policemen and his security guard sustained injuries on bullet wounds during the incident and were receiving treatment at the hospital.

A text to the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad from Vanguard for comment on the issue had not been responded to at press time.
