Dignitaries including traditional rulers from different states and in the Diaspora are in Ile-Ife to witness the event.

Banks, schools, shops in Ile-Ife closed for Ooni's coronation

Banks, schools and shops in Ile-Ife, Osun were on Monday closed for the coronation of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi as the Ooni of Ife.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the closure was to allow more people to attend the occasion.

Gov. Rauf Aregbesola is expected to give the staff of office to the Ooni at the ceremony.

Among those already on ground are state governors, former governors and other top politicians.

Cultural groups from Osun and other states are also on ground to entertain the guests.

Officials of the road safety corps, the police, civil defence, soldiers and DSS are also around to secure the venue.
