The Magajin Gari of Kano, Inuwa Wada is dead.

According to reports, one of the Magajin Gari;s sons, Nasir Wada confirmed the death of his father, saying he died around 6am.

The 98 year old traditional ruler, died today, Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at his residence, Durbin Iya, in Kano.

Mr. Wada incidentally, is the uncle of the former Head of State, late General Murtala Muhammed.

He also served as the Minister of Works and later, the Minister of Defence in the First Republic.

He was touted to be an influential cabinet member in the First Republic.

He was also elected as a member of the House of Representatives.
