Soldiers flee as Boko Haram burns down base

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai has expressed confidence that Boko-Haram will be banished from Nigeria by December.

 

A military base in Adamawa state was burnt down by Boko Haram insurgents, on Sunday, November 29, 2015, reports say.

According to Sahara Reporters, the Soldiers stationed at the base fled, leaving men of the civilian JTF to defend the town of Gulak, in Madagali Local Government area of Adamawa State.

James Ularamu, a former chairman of the council said by the time the military sent reinforcements, the insurgents had burnt down the military base.

Sahara Reporters also said the terrorists drove away an army T-72 tank, and took many military camouflage uniforms.

Boko Haram recently claimed responsibility for the bomb blast that killed over 21 people during a Shi'ite Muslim procession in Kano state.
