The Assistant Director, Public Affairs in DPR, Dorothy Bassey announced to newsmen that the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has set up a 24 hours monitoring team.
DPR Agency to monitor sale at filling stations
This is coming on the heels of the order by the Minister of state of petroleum resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu instructing staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) staff to keep vigil in filling stations.

Bassey said this team will monitor the sale of fuel in filling stations across the nation, adding that they have been mandated to take over any filling station selling above the official pump price.
Kachikwu also told them to be ready to miss their Christmas holiday, if need be.
The DPR spokesperson also warned filling stations who sell fuel at night.
She urged Nigerians to call the dedicated phone numbers on the DPR website to report any shady operations by fuel marketers.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) also revealed that it will privatise crude-oil pipelines to enable the corporation fund its Joint Venture partnerships between International oil companies (IOCs) in Nigeria.
The total network of crude-oil pipelines in Nigeria, is estimated to be around 5,000 kilometres.
