Oba of Benin had pronounced all the trafficked girls free of all curses and spiritual bondage after he forced native doctors in the state to repent.
The monarch had dug out powerful juju (voodoo) that had not been exposed to sunlight for 800 years to place curses on native doctors and human traffickers who continue to force young girls into prostitution abroad.
Following this order, the native doctors have called on trafficked girls to come and collect their pubic hair, panties among others.
Many Edo herbalists, who primarily work for human traffickers, take pubic hair and underwears as spiritual collateral from young girls who seek greener pastures in Europe but are too poor to sponsor their trip there - many of them are also unaware that they would be forced into prostitution.
These traffickers mainly ply their illegal trade in Benin, Edo State capital. They expect their victims to pay back outrageous sums of money to cover their (trafficked girls) travel expenses.
Before leaving Nigeria, the girls are forced to take part in a ritual which includes taking an oath at a shrine where they would vow to pay back the money over a period of time or lose their lives.
But the Edo monarch recently summoned all the native doctors in the state and forced them to dissolve the oath binding the girls to paying any kind of money to their traffickers
The monarch consequently pronounced all the girls free of all curses and spiritual bondage and told them to seize making payments to their slave masters.
It is in further compliance with Oba Ewuare II's orders that the herbalists reached out to the trafficked girls through emissaries to come and take their personal belongings.
