The girls were among more than 200 who were kidnapped from Borno State in April 2014.
A military helicopter was said to have picked them up from the Banki area of the state where the terrorists dropped them off.
They were released following negotiations between the government and the sect, which were brokered by the International Red Cross and the Swiss government.

Reports had it that the girls were exchanged for four Boko Haram members but this has been denied by Information Minister, Lai Mohammed.
