Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari addresses members of his cabinet in March after returning from London where he underwent treatment for nearly two months for an undisclosed ailment

The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, announced this on Twitter.

He said Buhari and Emefiele met at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Bashir said top on the agenda was the stabilisation of the foreign exchange market.

Emefiele is one of the very few government officials the President was reported to have held meetings with since he was confined to his official residence on doctors' recommendation.

In the past few weeks, speculations about Buhari's worsened state of health has heightened.

But the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, on Tuesday seemingly doused the tension when she tweeted that the President's health is not as bad as it is being reported.
