Chibok girls not among rescued women – Army

Troops rescued 200 girls and 93 women from the forest on Tuesday afternoon during an operation to rid the area of terrorists.

The girls rescued from Boko Haram stronghold, Sambisa Forest on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, are not the missing Chibok girls, Nigerian Army spokesman, Sani Usman told Reuters.

The rescue was announced by the army via the Twitter account of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.

“Now they are excited about their freedom. Tomorrow there will be screenings to determine whether they are Boko Haram wives…how long they have been in the camps, and if they have children,” a source told Reuters.

The source reportedly added that some of the girls were injured while some of the militants were killed.
