The Nigerian Army repelled an attack by members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect in Maiduguri on Sunday, December 27, 1015.

Sources who spoke to Leadership Newspapers say the  vigilant soldiers of the 7 Division Nigeria Army, fought back the sect members who tried to penetrate the city from  Aladuwari-  a village 2kilometers away from Maiduguri.

While the fight was going on with the insurgents, reports say two female suicide bombers made their way into a nearby village and detonated their bombs, killing a family of 15.

Speaking about the incident, a vigilante operative, Muhammed Abubakar said:

“As I am talking to you now we are all running for our lives because there is shooting everywhere and corpses and injured persons from the blast were all lying on the ground. They were two explosions: one coming immediately after the other. Those who saw them said they were two women who began to scream as the bombs were about to go off.”

Also, the spokesman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Abbas Gava said:

“They came in five Hilux vans all armed and ready to invade Maiduguri, but soldiers tackled them effectively and repelled all attacks; but it seems some of them had fled towards Jiddari area. The attack is so close that residents have fled their homes while those far away have all retired to their houses.”

Leadership Newspapers reports that the family, on hearing the female suicide bomber shouting for help, let her into the house and she detonated the bomb she was carrying.
