Bauchi senator reported dead at 58 (Updated)
The lawmaker reportedly slumped at his residence in Abuja and was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

According to Daily Nigerian, Wakili died on Saturday morning - March 17 - after he slumped at his Gwarimpa residence in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.
The lawmaker was reportedly rushed to Viewpoint Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
He was 58 years old.
Wakili, who was described as a vibrant lawmaker, was the Chairman Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation.
Pulse could not immediately get confirmation from the Senate and Wakili's constituency in Bauchi.
Update:
The Senate on Saturday afternoon confirmed the death of senator Ali Wakili in a Twitter post.
The tweet said Senate President Bukola Saraki visited the Abuja residence of the deceased to condole with his family.
