2 men face N3m bus theft charge

Police Prosecutor Joshua Oladoye told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 18 at  9.30 p.m. at Oke Oniti area of Osogbo.

Oladoye said the accused conspired and stole a bus with registration no. FST 504 XG, property of Trans-Shipment Company in Lagos.

He said the offences contravened Sections 383, 390 (9) and 516  of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The duo pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

The Defence Counsel, Mr Henry Odunayo, urged the court to grant the accused bail on liberal terms.

The Magistrate, Mrs Sodamade Fatima, in her ruling, granted the accused bail in the sum of N1 million and one surety in the like sum.

Fatima said the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction with an evidence of tax payment to the goverment.

The case was adjourned until October 23 for hearing.
