5 Reasons Why D’banj Needs Don Jazzy Again

D’banj needs Don Jazzy. It is fact of life. The two stars who once made Nigeria rock with the best of music production and vocal delivery have decided to hook up once again for a lot of reasons. Here are five reasons.

According to D'Banj, Don Jazzy's production will feature on his ten year anniversary album, and if that happens, it will be a huge step in the right direction  for D’banj who has struggled to make acceptable music since their acrimonious split.

D’banj needs Don Jazzy. It is fact of life. The two stars who once made Nigeria rock with the best of music production and vocal delivery have decided to hook up once again for a lot of reasons. But even though the move will suit both parties well, many fans and journalists are of the opinion that D’banj will be the biggest winner, simply because of…a lot of reasons.

Today we highlight 5 of those reasons why D’banj needs this move to happen.

  • He desperately needs a new ‘good’ song.

When was the last time the radio came on and your favourite song came from D’banj? Think carefully….you almost cannot remember, and it’s not your fault. D’banj has not had a good pop song in the last 4 years. His most recent hit song still remains ‘Oliver Twist’, and it’s a Don Jazzy production. That’s why he needs the Mavin Boss again.

  • He needs his music fans back.

When your music quality goes out the window, your core fan base go out with it too. With D’banj’s inability to get a good hit, his fans have become disillusioned and ultimately left him to his fate. It’s no longer news for D’banj to release a new single because the song has a huge chance to be just another crappy song. The fans are tired of his music, and the only way to ignite their love again is to go back to the past.

  • Shock Value

We have seen it all with D’banj. Songs, women, parties, performances, fadeals, businesses, and more businesses. We have seen all there is to see from D’banj. No news is news where Dapo Oyebanjo is concerned. He has done it all and more. D’banj even found a way to sign Tonto Dikeh and her bad music to his label, and it got him the headlines. But that effect has worn off, and we want something new. D’banj understands this, so bring on Don Jazzy!

  • For Old Times’ Sake

Once upon a time the combination of Don Jazzy and D’banj was magical. It’s success was worthy of legend. And if it had not broken up, legendary poems would have been written about it. The talented duo carved out a niche for Nigerian music, and they did this not because they were colleagues, but because they had chemistry that was born out of friendship.

Which of them wouldn’t miss that feeling and adrenaline that comes with working with your musical soulmate? So they want to go back to the gold old days, and experience their first love all over again.

  • For Posterity

D’banj is celebrating his 10 Anniversary in the music industry, and he plans for it to have both style and quality of content. This celebration will be the first of many, and for future generations to have the best of him, Don Jazzy has to be on it. He has to show fans and critics alike, what made him rise to the pinnacle of African music.

And no good D’banj story will ever be without the name of Don Jazzy. It will be incomplete.
