Rapper Speaks On How He Handles Criticism

Top Nigerian rapper M.I has spoken to Pulse on how he handles criticism. In an exclusive interview, M.I who has just released his third album to favourable reviews, said that he understands that criticisms are part of the game.

"The game is the game. If there is nothing personal behind it, it is what it is. I am smart enough to realize that my name out there is more important than my name not being out there. The worst thing that can happen to you is apathy" he said.

He further explained that having his name out there for negative reasons is better than not having his name out there at all. "It's actually better that there is some energy out there. But there are a lot of people who are very close to me, and I think I touch that on the album, that came at me, and that wasn't very nice. Infact I think I had some situations with some few people. It's all good, you chalk it up as part of the game and keep moving."

Further into the interview, he spoke about his core fan base were disappointed with his debut album Talk About It, and how he was already used to negative reviews by the time he dropped M.I 2.
