Hip Hop star to receive BET Honour

The worldwide rap star is being honoured for his ground breaking and innovative feats in Hip Hop music.

Hip Hop's foremost polarizing figure Kanye West will receive the Visionary award at the BET Honors next year. The multiple Grammy winning rapper/producer is one of the five celebrities that will be honoured at next year's ceremony.

The BET Honors which will be in its eight edition next year is also honouring R&B giant Usher with the Musical Arts Award for his illustrious twenty years in the music industry.

Legendary black actress Phylicia Rashad who acted in The Cosbys will receive the Theatrical Arts Award.

Performers at the BET Honors include Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, and Janelle Monae.

The BET Honors will be take place on January, 24 in Washington and will air on February 23.
