Sequel reportedly makes N20M on opening day

According to Mo' Abudu, The Wedding Party had the biggest opening day in Nollywood.

"The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai" reportedly raked in N20M on its opening day.

The producer of the movie Mo' Abudu announced this on her Instagram on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

"Thank you, Nigeria! Incredible, we have broken another record. The biggest opening day in the history of Nollywood! N20m day one of the box office. Last year we did N9.6m on our opening day! It's double this year Lord we thank you, we are grateful. Please Nigeria, go watch #TWP2 this weekend. It's a roller coaster of laughs, drama and romance. You will love it, no kidding!" she wrote.

World Premiere

The Wedding Party 2 opened in cinemas on Friday, December 15, 2017.

The world premiere held on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, had Mo Abudu, Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Enyinna Nwigwe, Ireti Doyle, Patience Ozokwor, Ita Giwa, Omoni Oboli, Beverly Naya, Niyi Akinmolayan, AY Makun among others in attendance.
