Movie passes "Avengers" in domestic box office

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has passed “Marvel’s The Avengers” as the highest-grossing film in the domestic box.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has surpassed "at the domestic box office, after grossing another $28.1 million on Wednesday, bringing it to a domestic total of $629m.

It's total domestic gross puts it over the $623m domestic gross of Marvel’s 2012 "The Avengers ."

Globally, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has grossed a  total of $1.293.1 billion to be the 8th biggest movie ever globally.

undefinedrecently grossed an estimated $286.8 million globally in its second weekend to become the fastest film to cross the $1 billion box office global mark with $1.090 billion, in its 12th day of release.

"The Force Awakens" earlier earned an estimated $545 million domestically in 10 days, and $546 million internationally in 12 days.

Domestically, the movie has also gone ahead to become the number two movie of 2015 and the fifth movie of all-time.

Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow, the upcoming film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
