Filmmaker speaks on why actors are stereotyped in Nollywood

According to the renowned filmmaker, the Onus is on the actor to look for materials that  stretches and shows his or her range.

The filmmaker who is popular for screen and stage works like "Violated," "Hear Word," "Widows Cot," "Letters to a Stranger" among others, shared her thoughts on why some Nollywood actors are stereotyped.

She went further to explain that the issue of stereotyping actors isn't only in Nollywood, but in all film industries.

"For the actor it's a job, and a job is very key for us in our business. Again, it's laziness. It's not only in Nollywood , it happens in all film industries. The Onus is always on the actor to then look for materials that  stretches, that shows the range.

Some actors don't have a range, and it's not a sin. There's nothing wrong in not having a wide range. If you work better maybe because of your  looks, or the texture of your voice , you work better as the bad boy or bad girl, hey, it works, stick to it and get your following.
