Ego Boyo has been in Nollywood since the late 80s.
The filmmaker became a household name following her character in the classic movie "Checkmate."
In celebration of her birthday today, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, we are sharing five reasons the actress is a favourite veteran.
1. Ann Haastrup
The actress gifted us with the character Ann Haastrup in the Amaka Igwe directed soap "Checkmate." A memorable character, Haastrup was arrogant, and had the perfect chemistry with Segun Kadiri, a character portrayed by Richard Mofe Damijo.
Yes, who ever gets over watching the actress as Peggy alongside RMD in the 1996 romantic drama "Violated," which was co-produced by the actress, and directed by the late Amaka Igwe.
Like or hate Nollywood, there is no denying that RMD and Boyo were the stuff that cinematic dreams are made of at that moment in time.
3. She believes in the 'new Nollywood' and its growth
4. She is still flawless
A proud mother of three, Ego Boyo is still as beautiful as we remember her from "Violated" and "Checkmate."
5. She is an advocate for women empowerment
Happy birthday to the talented veteran.
