Actor expresses joy on Nollywood's growth

The actor expressed his joy over the improvement of the Nigerian movie industry, which also showcased some movies at TIFF 2016.

David Oyelowo is one of the stars of the 2014 movie, Selma.

The actor, who is best known for his role in the 2014 movie, "Selma", thinks the Nigerian movie sector has the potential to compete with the world's top.

Oyelowo was quite passionate about his Nigerian roots, as he marvelled the crowd while giving a speech at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival held on Thursday, September 8, 2016.

He began his address with a great measure of humour when he said, “This is the first time I’ll be in a room full of people that can pronounce my name”.

Most notable from his speech was his comments describing how happy he is that Nollywood is finally taking center stage among other top movie producing country.
