Actors battle for Best Actor in a Drama at 2016 AMVCA

Meet the men nominated for this prestigious award.

 

Six leading men have been nominated in this year’s Best Actor in a drama category of the 2016 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards.  Last year, OC Ukeje won for his role in "Secret Room".

Pulse Nigeria takes a look at this year's nominees and the movies in which they display their captivating talent.

Blossom Chukwujekwu in “Falling"

In 2015, Blossom Chukwujekwu won Best Supporting Actor in a drama at the AMVCAs. This year his acting skills have garnered him a nomination for his performance in “Falling”.

The romantic drama written and produced by Uduak Oguamanam.

Daniel K. Daniel in “A Soldier’s Story”

Daniel K. Daniel plays the role the leader of the war rebels called Bossman in the movie "A Soldier's Story". His grasp of the badman role is outstanding.

The action film by Frankie Ogar is about a newly wed soldier who gets injured during a peacekeeping mission. The film features Tope Tedela, Linda Ejiofor and Adesua Etomi.

Segun Arinze in “Jaja the Great”

Segun Arinze takes us back in time with his role in post-colonial era movie titled “Jaja The Great”. The movie directed by Nonso Emekaekwe was inspired by events in the 1960s.

Majid Michel in “Being Mrs Elliot”

Majid Michel was nominated for his performance in “Being Mrs Elliot”. The romantic comedy was written and directed by Omoni Oboli.

In the film two women find their lives taking a different turn when in interesting circumstances they meet two men and find love unexpectedly.

Mike Ezuruonye in “Breathless

Mike Ezuruonye plays the role of Ben in the movie “Breathless”.  The crime thriller was directed by Charles Uwagbai.

Van Vicker in “A Long Night”

Ghanaian actor Van Vicker plays the role of a robber in “A Long Night”. Uche Jombo produced the thriller.
