Nigerian star wins outstanding supporting actress at the Emmy's

Not only did she win the oustanding supporting actress award, she has the award for the best acceptance speech this year.

Uzo Aduba of Orange Is The New Black has won the the outstanding supporting actress award, making it her second Emmy back to back (Last year she won the best guest actress award).

What makes her victory so memorable is the acceptance speech that followed. The speech was delivered, one colored by jubilance, gratefulness, and raw emotion.

Aduba couldn't help but cry as she thanked her fellow cast members and crew, the show's corporate parents at Netflix, her personal team, and her family.

Of Kohan, the show's creator, she said:

"I love you so much. I appreciate you for putting belief back in my heart. Thank you for making this show, for creating this space, for creating a platform."

But even more praise went to her mother and sister who were also at the event:

"These are people who have helped me read lines for auditions and stayed up late learning the script with me, and my mom has stood for me when I couldn't stand myself and carried me in time when I was weak. If I could live to be one-tenth of the woman that she has lived to be, I would have lived."

"Go, team Orange!"

Since this is an upgrade from last year's award, we can only look forward to what she'll win next year.
