Don Jazzy, boss of all bosses

Today’s #mcm is the head of Mavin Records and the consistent hit maker Don Jazzy.

Don Jazzy (Michael Collins) has been Nigeria’s number one music producer for the better half of a decade. After being a part of JJC’s set-up in London in the early 00’s, he moved back with D’banj to form Mo’ Hits in 2004.

This move started his rise in becoming Nigeria’s biggest music producer. From 2004 to 2012 Don Jazzy created at least two hits under his label. This impressive run made him the don of making hits in Nigeria.

After the split of Mo’ Hits, Don Jazzy quickly formed a new label Mavin Records and has continued his fine run with Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Dr. Sid.

He also proved that he has not lost his Midas touch in breaking new artistes, with the success of his newbies, Di’Ja, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks.

Apart from the music, Don Jazzy is a pop culture icon especially within the area of social media. Don Jazzy can start a trend within the blink of an eye, and has one of the largest followings on social media.

With his numerous brand endorsements, truly there is none bigger that the don himself.
