Actor speaks about his dropping out of school to pursue acting career

John Boyega speaks about the sacrifices he had to make to attain success in Hollywood.

The Hollywood movie star made this known during an interview with The Guardian Life. When asked about how the success story began, he talked about how he had to drop out of school to focus on his career and had to beg his father to see reasons with him.

"When I dropped out of the University of Greenwich, I had to clear it with my dad first. The great thing is that my manager is also Nigerian so we found a way to beg and negotiate. So, my dad gave me a year to figure it out or I had to go back to the drawing board," he revealed.

The budding actor went to talk about the obstacles and failures he encountered on his way to becoming a success story. He also revealed that his father has been there for him all through the journey. "My first school performance ever, my dad was there. My dad has always been there to see," he said.

John Boyega plans to shoot a low budget Nigerian movie with N9billion

John Boyega, stunned Nigerian everyone when he told CNBC Africa that he is interested in shooting a 'low budget' movie from a Nigerian story with . Boyega spoke to Power Lunch West Africa host, Onyi Sunday during the promotion of his new movie “Pacific Rim.”

"We’re developing a few Nigerian stories and choosing one which makes sense budget-wise. We’re probably looking at an indie budget of $20-$25 million dollars."

With the highest Nigerian movie having a budget less than $500,000, the "Star Wars" actor might be starting a revolution that will create a marriage between the Nigerian movie industry and the American movie industry.

John Boyega says he doesn't know Toke Makinwa

John Boyega has finally reacted to the accusation leveled against his bodyguard by media personality, Toke Makinwa. The Hollywood actor was a guest at Cool FM, where he was answering questions from OAPs, Daddy Freeze, and Kaylah Oniwo.

"Toke Makinwa reportedly assaulted by John Boyega's bodyguard," Daddy Freeze had said. Well, the whole studio went crazy when John looked all shocked and replied with the most sarcastic replies ever!

"First of all, first of all, who is that," he said. Well, he looked surprised as he claimed not to know who Toke Makinwa is and even referred to her as "that."
