Pasuma Wonder, Sound Sultan are a year older

His music career started in 1984 but he did not release his first album until 1993. It was titled ‘Recognition’.

Today is the birthday of Fuji music maestro Pasuma Wonder.

Pasuma whose real names are Wasiu Alabi Ajibola Otedola is 48 years old.

Born in Mushin in 1967, Pasuma originally hails from Kwara state. His music career started in 1984 but he did not release his first album until 1993. It was titled ‘’. He released his second album ‘’ in 1994.

In 1995 he released his breakthrough album titled ‘’. The title of the album went on to become a popular street slang. In the same year Pasuma won an award for Best Fuji Artiste.

With numerous albums under his belt, Pasuma Wonder is no doubt a Fuji music legend. Known for his flirtations with hip hop and pop music, Pasuma released his first Hip Hop album ‘’ in 2015.

Pasuma Wonder has several children but is still unmarried.

Today is also the birthday of veteran Nigerian singer Sound Sultan. He is 39.

With a career spanning over a decade, Sound Sultan is one of the mainstays of Nigeria's pop scene. He released his debut album in 2001. His last album (which is his sixth) was released in 2012.

Within this period, Sound Sultan has stacked enough hits that can be shared between two artistes.
