The terror group owned the attacks via its Amaq news service, saying  "a detachment of Islamic State fighters" carried out the strikes.

A van on the night of Saturday, June 3, plowed into pedestrians on the Bridge, while two other attackers used knife as a killing tool.

All three were shot dead by British counter-terrorism officers.

Over 40 people were wounded in the attacks.

IS is claiming responsibility more than 24 hours after the attack, the time frame which is said to be longer than normal.

The group typically claims responsibility for attacks in 12 to 15 hours, just like in the case of the May 22 Manchester bombing.

According to New York times, analysts said the terror group considers anyone whose actions were inspired by ISIS to essentially be a member.

"This is how ISIS decentralizes its terrorism," said Laith Alkhouri, a director at Flashpoint, a business risk intelligence company in New York that tracks militant and cyber threats.

"As of now, there’s no indication that ISIS orchestrated or directed these attacks," Alkhouri noted.
