‘Ex-Governor’s wives never used official cars,’ Aide says

Yuguda said further that his administration had voluntarily handed over all official cars in its possession, none of which was used by his wives.

Former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda

Former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda has denied reports that 22 cars were recovered from two of his wives.

This was disclosed by the former governor’s media aide, Jeff Kachikwu via a statement released on Sunday, June 21, 2015.

It reads in part:

“It therefore left much to be desired when the new administration in the state was alleging that Yuguda’s wives were ever in possession of the said cars. How can she use government vehicles after leaving the office as the First Lady when she was not even a government official while in office?”

“The truth is that the cars were being used by government officials who were entitled to the cars during the former governor’s time in office not to any of his wives. All the cars were duly handed over shortly after the hand-over date.”

The current Bauchi government had stated that it recovered 22 cars from the former governor’s wives as part of its efforts to recover illegally acquired state property and funds.
