Former President urges APC to fulfill campaign promises to Nigerians

Obasanjo made the plea on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, during a visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to fulfill all promises it made to Nigerians during its election campaigns.

Obasanjo made the plea on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, during a visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Vanguard reports.

The former president also reportedly appealed to the people of the state to support the governor to deliver good governance.

“I believe that Governor Ortom is sincere. He wants practical development and I urge you people to constantly remind him of his promises and but support him to succeed,” Obasanjo said.

Obasanjo was a strong supporter of then APC presidential candidate and current President, Muhammadu Buhari during the campaign period.

The former president made a dramatic exit from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in February by publicly ripping apart his membership card.
