‘It’s rubbish,’ Ex-Minister responds to PDP’s proposed disciplinary action against him

The PDP National Working Committee (NWC), on May 20, 2015, urged the Osun State branch of the party to discipline the former minister for going against the PDP constitution.

Femi Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has issued a response to the planned disciplinary action against him by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The PDP National Working Committee (NWC), on May 20, 2015, urged the Osun State branch of the party to discipline the former minister for going against the PDP constitution.

Fani-Kayode, in response, stated that he would not be put on the defensive by the NWC.

“The issue they addressed in their letter will be addressed by the people they wrote their letter to. I will not dignify that kind of rubbish with any kind of response. What I am trying to tell you is that I will not be put on the defensive here,” the former minister said.

“Those that need to be on the defensive are those that cheated their party members, Those that lied to their party members, those that betrayed the presidential campaign organization and sought to degrade us and ensured that we couldn't do our job,” he added.

“These are the people that have questions to answer and I am saying to you, I am reiterating a call of the overwhelming majority of party members, overwhelming number of governors, and overwhelming number of elder statesmen within the party. And that call is simply this, they should resign,” Fani-Kayode said.

“That is the issue for us. And we are happy that Muazu had finally answered the call and done the honorable thing. When will Metuh do it? When will Oladipo do it? When will the rest of them do it? That is what we are waiting for. So it’s not about Femi Fani Kayode. It’s not about my record in public office. What it is about is that their time is long overdue and they need to go,” he added.

Fani-Kayode had earlier alleged that two members of the NWC had worked against the PDP during the elections and were on the payroll of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
