Fayose had reportedly accused Buhari of plotting to islamize Nigeriawhile speaking during a ceremony in Rivers State on Friday, February 26, 2016.
The Ekiti APC issued its reaction via a statement released by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
The statement reads:
“We know Fayose as a devious schemer in the game of subterfuge with uncanny capacity to stoke public rage against his innocent opponents.”
“He is deliberately engaging the President relentlessly in his uncouth outbursts so that when the Nigerian law is being applied to take care of his many crimes against the state, he can then start his propaganda that he is being haunted for criticising the President.”
“If anyone is guilty of religious bigotry, it is Fayose who did not deem it fit to consider Muslims for appointments in his administration whereas he gave Christians almost 98 per cent of the appointments into the State Executive Council, parastatals and boards.”
“We have on several occasions raised that alarm that Fayose is dangerous and a threat to the Nigerian law and stability of the society. A desperate business man that has made a whole state a trading post is deliberately engaging himself in conducts not befitting of a governor for a purpose and we counsel Nigerians to see him as a rabble rouser bent on sabotaging Nigeria’s unity for his private comfort.”
Fayose has also criticized Buhari over his frequent trips abroad and called him a dictator.
