Fashola, Amaechi, others make President’s cabinet

According to reports, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola and former Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi are among the persons on the list.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has submitted his ministerial list to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

According to reports, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola and former Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi are among the persons on the list.

Other nominees include former governors Chris Ngige, Ogbonnaya Onu and Kayode Fayemi.

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for Taraba State, Aisha Alhassan, is also said to be on the list along with Amina Mohammed, a former commissioner in Ogun State, Kunle Adeosun, Malami Abubakar (SAN) and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Ibe Kachikwu.

Kachikwu will serve as Minister of State for Petroleum while Buhari will be in charge of the portfolio.

The president had earlier revealed that he would serve as petroleum minister in a bid to sanitize Nigeria’s oil sector.

The list will however not be made public until the next Senate plenary session on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
