Ex-Vice President will return to PDP – Presidency

The Presidency also stated that Atiku was merely on sabbatical leave with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Presidency has said that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar will soon return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Presidency also stated that Atiku was merely on sabbatical leave with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The declaration was made on Tuesday, March 17, by the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Affairs, Rufai Ahmed Alkali.

“Atiku is a PDP man to the core but he has gone on vacation and I believe one day he too will come back to the party,” Alkali said.

“My only prayer is that he comes back before the general election this year so that he can support Mr President fully to ensure our success,” he added.

The Presidential aide made the statement while receiving members of 120 support groups loyal to Atiku who were defecting to the PDP.

Atiku has however said that he has no intention of leaving the APC despite being invited by Jonathan.
