APC is fretting over our strategy meeting in Dubai – PDP

The APC called on security agencies to investigate the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s meeting with some party leaders in Dubai.

The APC called on security agencies to investigate the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s meeting with some party leaders in Dubai.

The ruling party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, in a statement issued to newsmen, described the meeting as sinister.

He said “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi; Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the party’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus met in Dubai few days ago according to media reports to "plot strategies to oust President Muhammadu Buhari" in next year's election.

"The purpose of the said meeting is both comical and ridiculous as they have held several meetings for the same purpose in Nigeria. Clearly, the meetings held in Nigeria did not yield their desired results, hence, a follow up meeting in Dubai.”

PDP fires back

In its response, the PDP said that the APC has become disoriented.

This was made known by the party via its Twitter handle, @OfficialPDPNig.

The party said “Since the emergence of @atiku as @OfficialPDPNig Presidential candidate, the panic-stricken @MBuhari and the @OfficialAPCNg have abandoned governance for smear campaign and now fret over the strategy meetings because they know that the outcome will dismount their government.

“@OfficialAPCNg is panicking over our strategy meetings because it did not only fail to deliver on its campaign promises, but is also completely bereft of ideas required to solve the problems it caused, even as it knows that it cannot drive our country in this 21st century.

“Is it not ludicrous that the @OfficialAPCNg has become so disoriented that it is now issuing statements about the venue of our meetings which does not offend any section of our laws, and for which it has now rented itself to lies and spurious allegations?”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) also called on security agencies to check the illicit movement of cash by politicians ahead of the 2019 general eelctions.
